Blackbaud Inc, a provider of software and services for non-profit organisations, on Monday named a Microsoft Corp executive as its president and chief executive.

Marc Chardon will succeed Robert Sywolski, who is retiring November 28, Charleston, South Carolina-based Blackbaud said.

An executive with Microsoft since 1998, Chardon has served as chief financial officer of Microsoft's $11 billion information worker business since 2003. In that role, he has been responsible for developing a growth strategy for the business.
